Your role & work environment
As User Interface (UI) Designer you are responsible for the design of (digital) products like apps and websites, house styles, figurines and icons within the b-t-b platforms (web, app IOS, app Android) of this financial. The purpose of your activities is to increase customer satisfaction, user-friendliness and accessibility of the (digital) services in order to achieve an optimal, original and consistent client experience.
You will work according to the Agile way of working as part of the UX squad. Working incrementally will quickly give you a good view of what you are delivering. You and your PO make sure the highest priorities are being worked on to get the most results out of the UX efforts.
Your key responsibilities
Create and design interactions
Create an intuitive, innovative, easy to use and easy to learn user experience. Understand business needs and user needs for the designs and interactions. Generate clear ideas, design concepts and final designs of creative assets from beginning to end, considering technology constraints and workflow constraints.
The designer gathers feedback on every version of the design and sets up alignment with the different internal stakeholders (both business and IT). In close collaboration with the stakeholders and by trying and user testing together the design evolves through time. Alignment and collaboration is crucial as the design and first version of the product needs to take all points of view and angles into account, from customer journey product and process development.
Voice of the user
For a designer it is important to get a broader and detailed insight on the voice of the user in different stages of the creation and evolution of the design. This can be taken through different stages, from alignment with different stakeholders over discussion groups with real clients to AB testing by groups of customers of different versions of the design, the prototype or the first version of the product.
The User Interface Designer has extensive experience, skill and knowledge on the different wireframing and prototyping software tools (Invision or equivalent) and in design software tools (Sketch, Photoshop or equivalent). It is important to develop and expand this knowledge and apply it for the best possible user experience.
As UX Designer you will also need:
The User Interface Designer designs original and appropriate solutions in line with global branding. Is able to generate multiple solution directions and concepts per problem statement. Can consider a problem statement from multiple angles and switch between conceptual detail levels quickly. Has critical self-reflection regarding own / other solutions. Uses existing elements and, if necessary, is able to build new elements or methods.
Customer focus and customer interest at the center
The User Interface Designer acts in the interests of the end user. Examines customer wishes and needs and anticipates this. Has a control task on quality and customer focus in establishing customer journeys. Translates customer insights into design principles.
Rational design and eye for detail
Ability to rationalize the design options and to select the most appropriate one by using a structured selection process. Develop and/or update style guides to guide development teams. Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 WCAG and ability to translate them into designs.
